UtVideo Codecs

UtVideo is a set of lossless video codecs that compresses AVI files to roughly one-tenth their size with zero quality degradation. It has been actively maintained for over 18 years.

For MikuMikuDance users, UtVideo is the best intermediate format: smaller than raw AVI, lossless unlike MP4, and compatible with video editors like DaVinci Resolve and Premiere. MikuVideo can then convert UtVideo files to MP4.

RGBA variants support transparent backgrounds for overlay effects. Install once, then restart MikuMikuDance to access UtVideo in the AVI output options.
